Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting. I’m Jessica Hilton, a self-taught artist who lives on the Isle of Wight on the south coast of England.
I studied biology at the University of Southampton and after finishing my degree, moved back to the Island. Here I rediscovered my love of creating art. Consequently I decided to follow this path for my career.
I have always had a love for all things fairy tale, folklore, forest and magic. These are a major influence on a large part of my artwork.
Animals also are an important part of my life. All of the animals that have lived with me or that I’ve known have had such a positive impact on my life. I could not imagine being without them! I currently have a rescue cat, a rehomed fox terrier, a Spanish rescue dog and a New Forest pony. Animals naturally became the subject of many pieces of artwork.
My interests outside of art include history, books, playing the piano and treble recorder, ecology, mycology, photography and exploring the countryside.
