Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting.  I’m Jessica Hilton, a self-taught artist who lives on the Isle of Wight on the south coast of England.

I studied biology at the University of Southampton and after finishing my degree, moved back to the Island.  Here I rediscovered my love of creating art.  Consequently I decided to follow this path for my career.

Animals are such an important part of my life.  All of the animals that have lived with me or that I’ve known have had such a positive impact on my life.  I could not imagine being without them! I currently have a Spanish rescue dog, Hope and a New Forest pony, Tilly.  Animals naturally became the subject of many pieces of artwork.

After feeling that I needed some variety, I decided to start stumpwork (raised) embroidery in 2024. I have always had a love for all things folklore, forest and nature which have had an influence on my embroideries.

My interests outside of art include history, books, playing the piano and treble recorder, ecology, mycology, photography, bottle digging and exploring the countryside.
